The civil practice law and rules is amended by adding a new 2 section 214-e to read as follows: 3  214-e. Action to recover damages for personal injury caused by the ______________________________________________________________________ 4 infusion of such blood products which result in the contraction of the ________________________________________________________________________ 5 human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and/or AIDS. Notwithstanding any ________________________________________________________________________ 6 provision of law to the contrary, any cause of action for an injury or ________________________________________________________________________ 7 death against a proprietary manufacturer of blood products for damages ________________________________________________________________________ 8 involving the infusion of such blood products which resulted in the ________________________________________________________________________ 9 contraction of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and/or AIDS which ________________________________________________________________________ 10 is barred as of the effective date of this section because the applica- ________________________________________________________________________ 11 ble period of limitation has expired is hereby revived, and an action ________________________________________________________________________ 12 thereon may be commenced and prosecuted provided such action is ________________________________________________________________________ 13 commenced within two years of the effective date of this section. The ________________________________________________________________________ 14 provisions of this section shall be inapplicable to any civil action ________________________________________________________________________ 15 governed by the statute of limitations of another jurisdiction. _______________________________________________________________ 16  2.
