    AN ACT to amend the civil practice law and rules, in relation to  privi-
      leged communications
      The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-

    bly, do enact as follows:

 1    Section 1. The civil practice law and rules is amended by adding a new
 2  section 4547 to read as follows:
 3     4547. Privileged communications; electronic  communication  thereof.

 4  No communication privileged under this article shall lose its privileged
    ________________________________________________________________________
 5  character  for  the  sole  reason  that it is communicated by electronic
    ________________________________________________________________________
 6  means or because persons necessary for the delivery or  facilitation  of
    ________________________________________________________________________
 7  such  electronic  communication  may  have  access to the content of the
    ________________________________________________________________________
 8  communication.

 9     2. This act shall take effect immediately.
